Moisturising and caring for the skin is a luxury that many of us aren’t able to permit ourselves. We lead busy lives and this means that sometimes we don’t care for our skin in the way we should.
The skin is the largest organ and its function is key to keeping a healthy body. Amongst other things, our skin helps remove impurities, helps regulate our body temperature and good skin is essential to looking and feeling great.
Our skin is consistently put under a lot of pressures throughout the year whether this be constant change to products, weather changes, make up or stress, we pluck it, we wax it, we hit it, scratch it, bump and bruise it and yet there it is, still holding us together.
So, it’s important to find time to care for your skin on a day-to-day basis as well as having the occasional treatment to re-balance your mind and soul.
To help you do this, we have put together a few tips on best practices for your skin that will take no longer than 5 minutes a day
Invest in good quality products – this point is essential. We currently live in a very saturated beauty market where we can have a new beauty product delivered to our door at the click of a button. Many a times, we hear clients say that they have changed their beauty routine because they have been given a sample of something and have later found that this has irritated their skin, which can take a long time to sort. Look for products that contain no nasties, for example the Elemis range use all natural formulations and their different collections cater for all skin types.
Get a clean night’s sleep – Sleep is vital for clear skin; it allows the body to perform it’s natural processes of detox and regeneration. To allow this to happen for the skin, it is also important that you thoroughly cleanse skin to allow pores to breathe. Failure to do so may result in clogs pores, leading to blackheads and spots.
We love this Soothing Chamomile Cleanser from Elemis. This deeply cleanses skin, effectively removing the build-up of daily pollutants and make-up. Unique in texture and formulated specifically for sensitive skin, the harmonising extracts of Chamomile, which is found to be a great ingredient to help aid sleep quality. Stay safe from the sun – Consider using products on your skin that contain an SPF. Sometimes, even though the sun doesn’t feel warm, the rays are still hitting your skin meaning it could become damaged. It will also prevent you from having to do double work, meaning you won’t need to reapply an SPF on your skin when going out (not applicable in hot weather).
These are the best practices that we all follow for our skin and are ones that we recommend to all of our clients. If you have any questions and would like to speak to one of our experts, then please contact us today for more information. We are proud to be part of Elemis stockists UK.
