Skin concerns and this week’s top picks

Welcome to the brand new Spa ely blog page. This week, we thought we would talk about different skin types, how to identify your skin type, and our top product picks for this week.

Many people are confused or are unable to identify their skin type. If this sounds like you, then you are not alone.

Combination – This skin type normally relates with breakouts in areas such as your forehead, nose and chin whilst your temples, eye area and cheeks are really dry. If this applies to you, we would say that you have combination skin. If your skin changes from oily to dry depending on the climate or season, this would also classify as combination skin.

Recommended product of the week: Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, using a combination of zinc and copper encapsulated in this innovative formula, apply twice a day for evenly toned skin throughout the day.  For further information on this product, click here

Oily – Oily skin is normally identified by moisture and shininess. If your skin looks moist and shiny (especially around midday when oil is at its peak) then we would say that you have oily skin. Your pores feel clogged and you are affected by non-inflammatory acne such as blackheads and whiteheads but also by painful inflammatory acne such as pimples that pop up all over.

Recommended product of the week: Elemis Nourishing Omega Rich Cleansing Oil, perfect for use twice a day. When combined with warm water, this oil turns into a gentle cleanser which will leave your skin clear of impurities and feeling fresh. To buy this product, click here.

Normal – Your skin is smooth and radiant; this is due to the way it evenly reflects the light. Your complexion looks balanced and you rarely suffer with breakouts. If this is you, we would say that you have normal skin. This skin type remains the same throughout the day and can tolerate most products.

Recommended product of the week: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich can be used on a daily basis to keep skin moisturised and looking radiant. For further information on this product or to purchase, click here.

Dry/Sensitive – This skin type is identified by rash-like redness and patchiness across the skin. Your skin often feels tight, rough and dry in the evening or soon after applying moisturiser. This skin type is known for its low tolerability to skin products, which causes redness and a stinging sensation.

Recommended product of the week: Elemis S.O.S Emergency Cream. This product is ideal for daily use on the skin and will help to soothe and nourish dry and sensitive skin. To learn more about this product, click here.
